Roxbury forum to focus on 'rise' of Haitians locally

The organization Discover Roxbury, along with the Haley House Bakery Café will host a speaker series event focused on the history of Haitian people in Roxbury on Wednesday, October 27 at 7 p.m.. The discussion will focus on the rise, growth and culture of Haitian-Americans in the city.

Panelists will include Marjorie Salvodon, Associate Professor at Suffolk University; Kathleen Jeanty, Mayor's Office of New Bostonians; Gerard Georges, Senior Project Manager at Fletcher Thompson Architects and Manolia Charlotin, Editor and Business Manager at the Boston Haitian Reporter.

The forum will take place at Haley House Bakery Café, 12 Dade St, Dudley Square. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
