Event: Opening Reception for The Art of Speaking Up Exhibition

Join Massasoit Community College and the local Brockton and Haitian communities to celebrate The Art of Speaking Up, a Haitian art exhibition that expresses protest in a new era of prejudice that affects many immigrants and refugees. The exhibition is open to the public during the library’s normal operating hours, and it features contributed artworks from members of the Haitian Artists Assembly of MA (HAAM). Dr. Michel DeGraff, professor of linguistics at MIT and director of the MIT-Haiti Initiative, will give a keynote address and Q&A during the reception. The exhibition runs from Feb. 1 - April 1.
