Hyde Park Arts Fest features Zili Misik

Jul. 28, 2012 - 4:00 pm

Location

Fairmount Ave.
Hyde Park, MA

In celebration of creativity in Hyde Park, ArtScene 2012 will present an evening of art, crafts and music in an outdoor café setting along Fairmount Avenue in Hyde Park’s commercial district, on Saturday July 28 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Local artisans will line the street with dozens of jewelry, painting, textile, and pottery booths.

The stage will come alive with performances by Zili Misik, an energetic all-female Haitian, Brazilian, and West African music group, the Boston Tap Company, Jazz musicans Daniel Ian Smith and a Collective Directive, the Boston Harmonites Steel Drum Orchestra, One Step Beyond Martial Arts, and Riverside Theatre Works.

Restaurants and eateries along Fairmount Ave will keep their doors open late and Fairmount Ave will be turned into an outdoor art café. Face painting, mask making, a mask parade, cookie decorating, and magical happenings will be part of this year's festival. Come join us as Hyde Park’s center comes to life on a midsummer night.
